About Us
The journey for Sunnyside began in 1978 with McClung’s Golden Lady Molly. Since then, Karen Smith and her daughter Megan McClung have trained and put many titles on 26 Goldens and Karen has taught obedience for over 25 years. They have chaired Field Events, Specialties, Matches and are the Field Instructors, teach Freestyle Dancing and Doga at Camp Pawsitive Adventure. Karen and Megan are approved evaluators for AKC Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R Puppy Programs and are both evaluators for Therapy Dogs International.
Sunnyside Training Center moved to a wonderful new training facility in Johnstown (just north of New Albany) from Westerville in July of 2014; at the same time, Don Smith joined the family. Don brings to Sunnyside over 45 years of dog training experience, focusing today on Retriever Field Training.
Sunnyside Training Center is a privatly owned, All-Breed Dog Training facility located in Central Ohio, just north of New Albany. We are balenced trainers who really love what we do. We believe in the importance of training you to train your dog and truely enjoy watching the bond that develops between the dog/handler teams.
